Wordpress In Da House
After a bit of tinkering, Wordpress is now powering this blog. I’m using a modified version of the Green MarinĂ©e theme by Ian Main that’s been tweaked to my needs while I work on the all-new Bregar.com theme.
I’ve also moved the blog to a subdirectory (www.bregar.com/blog) to facilitate coming out with an actual web site for myself rather than just a blog. Stay tuned.
New Design Coming…
There’s change in the air… I’m getting ready to switch up both the software that powers this blog as well as the template design.
I’ve decided to go to WordPress for the new iteration of this blog for the simple reason that I’m tired of the beastie that is Movable Type. WordPress is also free with no limits on authors, blogs, or whether or not I’m writing this in my underwear.
The new design will definitely be a departure from what I’ve had here for the last… well, too long. I’m even changing up the colors. And there’ll be gradients. And maybe I’ll make the logo reflective and call it “Bregar2.0″ or “BregarBeta”… or maybe “Bregr”.
For those of you who JUST…CAN’T…WAIT, here’s a sneak peek into the future.
10 year reunion
It’s kind of hard to believe it’s been a decade since I graduated.
Anyway, for any of you PCHS class of 1995 members who’re reading this, I just finished setting up the MT-powered Class Reunion site. There are holes in the content, but so far it looks good. Oddly enough, it looks just like this site, layout-wise.
So, I’m lazy.
Movable Type
Just rebuilt this site with Movable Type’s personal weblog software.
I’ve been hearing great things about it, but never got around to moving from pLog. Now that I have, I must say that the interface is definitely better on the backend.
I’m slowly working on getting the template tweaked to my liking. It’s a good chance to brush up on my CSS skills again.
