Paint!

It’s actually starting to look finished.
First snow
Man, this stuff is wet.
Parts of the Denver area got socked with a helluva first snow storm. We have drifting in our yard up to about 1.5 feet.
And it was heavy shoveling work. Gawd, I love having a house sometimes… *rolls eyes*
Can we get drywall up already?
Okay, I’m officially sick of wire.
I’m about ready for things with the basement to take off. I want drywall up so I can do the fun stuff and start to see some real progress being made. I mean, it’s cool to see the framework and wiring take shape, but I’m tired of that already.
It should be ready for the inspections on Wednesday. Hopefully those will go well and I can schedule drywallers for the weekend. Then I have to get the damn counter top ordered. It takes three weeks to come in. Then while we’re waiting for the countertop to come in we can finish the flooring, paint, trimwork, finish electrical and put all the plumbing fixtures in. Good times to be had by all.
Overall, this project’s been a pain in my ass, but I’m glad I did it. I’ve now become a master with a nailgun and miter saw.
Yet another basement status
Finished the laundry room wall and the front wall of the utility room (where the furnace and water heater live).
I also cleaned up a bunch of stuff that’s just accumulated down there.
My new DeWalt reciprocating saw is pretty rockin’. It makes short work of taking out the baseplates in doorways and taking walls down.
Three more walls to go, electrical, a bit of plumbing and we’re all set for inspections… and then it’s DRYWALL TIME.
Basement Status
So, I finished most of the plumbing for the basement bathroom. Just now, I realized that I forgot to break off a cold water supply line for the toilet. Whoops.
In any case, the project’s plugging along slowly but surely. Tomorrow (or during the week) I need to extend the back wall of the bathroom, put up the divider walls and put the face walls on the bathroom/laundry and utility rooms. Then I can put up the wall that divides my office off from the rest of the basement. At that point, it should be much easier to visualize.
Then it’s on to finishing the electrical and framing out the ceiling.
Busy week.
Basement Plans
Whee. I’d say the basement project’s about 50% done… maybe a little less.
The plumber’s coming tomorrow AM to run the drain/waste/vent lines for the powder room and laundry. When he’s done, I’ll stub out the supply lines and then finish up the framing and electrical.
Then it’s inspection time… and after we’ll have the drywallers come in and put the skin on the walls.
The end is in sight.
